Savannah- Carmelo Franco, Jr., 58, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Hospice House.
Franco was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and moved to the United States when he was five years old. After five years of service with the U.S. Marine Corps, he worked as a technician with Green Securities in Beaufort, SC. In 1996 he opened his own alarm service company, Dynamark Securities. He has lived in Savannah since 2009. He was a communicant of St. Peters Catholic Church in Beaufort. Franco will be remembered as a very upbeat person who would do anything for you and his love of dancing.
Survivors include his mother, Esther Ramos; children, Sabrina Franco-Pless, Carmelo Franco, III, Tiffany Franco-Howard, Adriana Franco-Sylvest, Maria Franco; six grandchildren; two brothers, Sisco Franco, Freddie Franco, and his former wife, Kristi Franco.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
